There is nothing more annoying than a film that starts off with so much potential, but fritters it away. Do you have any recent examples?

HALL PASS comes to mind. Terrific, edgy premise. Then, as soon as it introduces that premise, it immediately begins to backpedal and play it safe. This is a movie with no cajones.
